A clerk at a Dubuque convenience store faces theft charges for faking hundreds of transactions that led to him stealing about $1,400. Authorities arrested 21-year-old Christian Timmermans this week on a 3rd-degree theft charge. Police say that while Timmermans worked at an Oky Doky location on First Street, he forged nearly 300 transactions while pocketing $1,385. According to a report, he used his cellphone to calculate change due back. Then, he’d void those transactions at the register and keep the money customers had paid him. The thefts happened during August into early September.
