Sentencing was recently handed down for a Chicago man who broke into a Dubuque home and assaulted two women. Reports say that 30-year-old Richard Walton Jr. pled guilty to 2nd-degree burglary, domestic assault, willful injury and two counts of child endangerment. A handful of other charges were dismissed as part of his plea deal. Authorities say Walton broke into the Bluff Street home April 28th and attacked his ex-girlfriend. The woman’s mother and two children were also inside the home during the break-in. Walton assaulted the mother too – breaking her nose and ankle. Walton was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.
