Iowa’s unemployment rate inched up a tenth to 2.6-percent in October. Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend said while Iowa saw a small increase in the number of unemployed in October, there was also an increase of 91-hundred more in the workforce than in September. Private employers lost 400 jobs in October which was offset by small gains in local and state government. Iowa’s jobless rate is one-percent lower that the US unemployment rate of three-point-six percent.
