The grand opening of the new aquatic center at Hempstead High School that was postponed because of this past weekend’s winter storm will now be held this evening. The 9.5 million dollar facility was inspected by the Iowa Department of Health nearly two weeks ago and passed. A short program will be held at 5 pm, followed by an open house. At 6:30 there will be a meet in the new facility, featuring teams from Senior and Hempstead.
