Liquid Fertilizer Spill Closes Kerper Boulevard For Short Time

Liquid fertilizer was spilled from a storage tank at the Gavilon facilty at Kerper Boulevard and East 12^th Street in Dubuque Thursday morning shortly after 6am. It was a small spill as a result of an overflow while filling a tank. The Dubuque Fire Department Hazmat Team responded to the site to contain the spill. Kerper Boulevard and the general area was closed off for a portion of Thursday morning until officials with Department of Natural Resources arrived to give their recommendations.
