A western Wisconsin man was found passed out behind the wheel, with two children in the vehicle, just after 5p Saturday evening in Dubuque. Police arrested 39-year-old Paul Gerke of Tomah for operating while under the influence, child endangerment, and two counts of felony neglect. Officers say Gerke was in the driver’s seat, passed out, with his vehicle running at the intersection of Bennett Street and University Park Way. A 5-year-old and a 7-year-old were in the back seat of the vehicle. Police say Gerke was “very disoriented” and officers discovered an open beer in a front cup-holder during their investigation.
