Authorities say a man was airlifted to an Iowa City hospital after being hit by a train north of Dubuque. According to a Dubuque Police report, emergency crews were called about 10:30 Sunday morning to an area roughly a mile north of Lock and Dam number-11. Officials found the man, who was conscious, near the railroad tracks. He was initially taken to a Dubuque-area hospital before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospital with significant bone fractures. Authorities didn’t release the man’s name, his hometown, or provide an update on his condition.
