A 63-year-old Dubuque man had to be taken to the hospital Monday morning after being hit by a car. Police say Richard Larson was flipped over a car – driven by 21-year-old Isaiah Boyd, also of Dubuque. Reports show Boyd was turning onto Locust Street from Ninth Street when his car struck Larson. Larson was in a marked crosswalk with a ‘walk’ sign indicating for him to cross. Boyd had a green light, but was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian and for driving while barred. Larson was taken to Mercy-One Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of a cut around his eye. He also complained of feeling dizzy and having hip pain.
