The price at the pump over the past month has been fairly steady or even slightly declining in the tri-states. The latest report from Gas-Buddy-dot-com puts the average price for a gallon of gas in Wisconsin at $2.08. In mid-July the cost was around $2.11 a gallon. The price in Iowa is roughly a nickel less than Wisconsin. Iowa’s current average state-wide is $2.03 – which compares to $2.08 a month ago. Illinois has a state-wide average of $2.25 a gallon – in mid-July the price was about $2.32 a gallon. The national average for a gallon of gas is $2.16. This time last year, gas prices across the US were around $2.60 a gallon.
