A northwest Illinois man had to be airlifted to a Rockford hospital after crashing a motorcycle Monday evening. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports 26-year-old Patrick Hatfield was seriously injured during the crash around 5:30 in rural Stockton. Authorities say Hatfield was on Highway 78 near Bethel Road when he lost control of the motorcycle. That caused him to leave the roadway and hit a culvert. A sheriff’s report says that Hatfield was thrown from the motorcycle.
