Man Jumps Off Bridge – Swims to Shore

Few details have been released about a man who jumped off the Julien Dubuque Bridge Thursday night. Reports show that members of the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, as well as officers with the Dubuque and East Dubuque Police Departments, were called to the bridge about 7:30pm. Officials learned a male subject had jumped from the bridge into the river and then swam to shore on the Illinois side. Witnesses said that the man did not appear to be injured. The Julien Dubuque Bridge was closed briefly when authorities arrived on the scene.
