A northeast Iowa man will serve almost 6 years in federal prison after he pled guilty to being a prohibited person possessing a firearm. The sentence for 29-year-old Allen Osterkamp of Dyersville was handed down on Thursday. According to a report, Osterkamp was given 5 years and 10 months in prison, along with 3 years of supervised release. The US Attorney’s Office says Osterkamp admitted to unlawfully possessing a stolen gun in March 2017, and having more than a half dozen guns at that time. His prior convictions include domestic abuse, operating a motor vehicle without consent, theft and intent to manufacture meth.
