A Dubuque County jury has found 18-year-old Yahye Sallahadin guilty of one count of third-degree sexual abuse for an incident with a female student last year. Sallahadin is a former student of the University of Dubuque, and in the Fall semester of 2020, he invited a female student to his room, where she passed out from alcohol consumption that was forced on her by Sallahadin, and was then sexually abused while unconscious. Sallahadin denied providing any alcohol to the female student. He was arrested for the incident in January. Around the same time last fall, Sallahadin was also arrested for a separate incident on a charge of assault, with intent to commit sexual abuse. Reports say he groped another student in a commons area on campus while they were on a video call with a relative. Sallahadin has a hearing scheduled in that case on May 14th, followed by a sentencing hearing on this case set for June 28th.
