Fatal Crash in Allamakee County

One person is dead and another injured after a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday in Allamakee County. The Iowa State Patrol reports that 60-year-old Algie Crowder was driving north on Volney Road near Monona around 4:45am. Investigators say Crowder’s truck went into a ravine and ejected Crowder and a passenger – Sandra Davis-McDowell. Crowder died in the crash. McDowell was taken by Med-Flight to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
