A 28-year-old Dubuque man was given deferred judgment and up to 5 years probation for having a relationship with a girl – whom he knew was under the age of 16. Reports show Anthony Stant was sentenced on a charge of 3rd-degree sexual abuse after admitting that he had sex with the girl. If Stant completes the obligations outlined during his 2 to 5 years of probation, then the record of the case is expunged. As part of a plea deal, a charge of violating a no-contact order was dismissed.
