A Dubuque man is set to be sentenced this week after pleading guilty to neglecting farm animals. According to a report, 32-year-old Cesar Gonzalez entered a plea deal in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County. He was initially charged with two dozen counts of livestock neglect and 8 counts of failure to dispose of a dead animal. Under his plea deal, he’ll be charged with livestock neglect causing serious injury or death – and all associated misdemeanor charges will be dismissed. His deal includes 80 days in jail and 2 years of probation. The charges stem from a 2019 investigation at the Gonzalez property.
