A rural Potosi man faces several charges for beating someone up after authorities were called regarding a break-in at a Cuba City apartment. A Grant County Sheriff’s Office report shows 33-year-old Nicholas Kwallek was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct, as well as both felony and misdemeanor bail jumping. Deputies were initially called around 11:30 Monday night for a subject who had broken into an apartment in the downtown Cuba City area. According to the sheriff’s report, the suspect fled the apartment thru a window, ran across some roof-tops, hung from an overhead electrical wire and dropped to the ground where he began fighting with someone in the alley behind the Dead End Bar. The victim in that fight was knocked unconscious and sustained severe head and facial injuries. Multiple officers were called to the scene and Kwallek was eventually taken into custody. Once medically cleared from the injuries he had sustained in the fight, Kwallek was booked on his charges at the Grant County Jail.
