A Dubuque-based drug store chain is offering third doses of COVID-19 vaccines to people with compromised immune systems. Hartig Drug Co. locations are offering third doses of vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna. A press release states that studies suggest people with compromised immune systems do not always build the same level of immunity after vaccination and should receive a third dose at least four weeks following an initial two-dose series. Vaccination appointments are available at all Hartig locations and can be scheduled online at hartigdrug.com/appointment.
