Police said a Dubuque woman assaulted her girlfriend while pointing a kitchen knife at her and wielding a large pot lid as a shield. 18 year old Brianna Grassel was arrrested Tuesday on a warrant charging domestic assault while displaying or using a weapon and domestic assault with injury. Reports say Grassel assaulted Kayleah Scheffert at their residence on September 21st during an argument which turned physical. Scheffert told police the two women were arguing when Grassel picked up a fan and swung it at Scheffert, causing the fan to break apart. Grassel then threw a ceramic candle at Scheffert, cutting Scheffert’s arm. Grassel entered the kitchen and armed herself with a small kitchen knife and a large lid. Grassel pointed the knife blade at Scheffert’s neck and the lid was being held in Grassel’s other hand as if it were a shield.
