Dubuque Man Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges

A Dubuque man is accused of sexually abusing and having nude photos of a teen younger than 17 in 2019 and 2020. 30 year old Tyler Hefel was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging third-degree sexual abuse-statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act. A report says Hefel regularly had sex with the girl, whom he knew, in 2019 and 2020. The crimes were reported to police in March of this year. Hefel also had the girl send him nude photos, which he kept on his phone. A warrant for Hefel’s arrest was issued September 29th.
