Three People Injured in Crash Near Bernard

Three people were injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash outside of Bernard. 47 year old Phyllis Butteris of Dubuque, and 36 year old Richard Sanchez of Dubuque both were taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital in Dubuque for treatment. 30 year old Kyle  Heeren of Cuba City also was injured but was not taken by ambulance to a hospital. The crash happened at about 5:15 p.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 151 near Sundown and Driscoll roads. A report states that 49 year old William Strong of Dubuque, was trying to cross Highway 151 and broadsided Heeren’s vehicle. Both Butteris and Sanchez were passengers in Strong’s vehicle. Strong was cited with failure to yield upon entering a highway.
