The State of Wisconsin has opened more than 7 million acres of land for thousands of hunters. The gun deer season is a tradition that’s been going on in the state for 170 years. According to DNR Conservation Warden Nick Webster, as of Sunday, 700 thousand people in Wisconsin had hunting licenses. Officials say despite a large number of hunters in the woods, most injuries are not gun related. The DNR says it usually involves people over exerting themselves or falling out of trees. The gun deer season runs thru November 28th.
