A former longtime chief of the Bellevue Fire Department died Sunday. Gary Griebel of Bellevue was 72. Griebel served as a member of the Bellevue Fire Department from 1975 to 2013.Griebel served as fire chief from 1984 to 1998. Griebel also was a member of the Bellevue Community School Board for 25 years and served as its president for many years.
