A sixth candidate now has filed to run in an upcoming Dubuque City Council special election. Carla Anderson filed to run in the March 29th special election for the council’s Ward 4 seat, previously held by Mayor Brad Cavanagh. Anderson, a former journey-level carpenter who is currently on disability, previously announced her intention to run for the position. Also running are Hillary Dalton, Tim Flynn, Erik Kronstedt, R.R.S. Stewart and Katy Wethal. The filing period runs through February 4th. A March 1st primary will whittle the field down to the top two vote-getters. The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Cavanagh’s term, which runs through December 31st, 2023.
