Police Arrest Intoxicated Driver

Police say an intoxicated driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Dubuque business sign, causing $15,000 worth of damage. 48 year old Jorge Perez Martinez of Dubuque, was arrested Sunday on John F. Kennedy Road on a charge of operating while intoxicated. Police say Perez Martinez was also cited with failure to maintain control of his vehicle, failure to provide proof of financial liability and leaving the scene of a crash. According to police, Martinez was eastbound on Asbury Road at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle and it smashed into the large sign for Schultz Family Dentistry. Martinez fled the scene but was later arrested and found to be intoxicated.
