District officials have released more details about a fatal accident that happened Wednesday afternoon at a Dubuque school. According to a release, Craig Jackson died while operating a roller compactor on the football field at Roosevelt Middle School. Officials say while Jackson was attempting to maneuver under a goal post, the compactor’s safety roll-bar struck the bottom of the post, causing it to fall forward on him. Dubuque Police investigated the incident and determined it to be accidental. An OSHA investigation is ongoing. Jackson had worked in the Dubuque Community School District for 23 years.
