Drunk Driver Leads Officer On Chase in Dubuque

Police say a drunk driver led an officer on a brief chase Saturday night in Dubuque. 30 year old Brandon Schueler of Dubuque was arrested Saturday shortly after 10pm on charges of felony eluding, driving while barred and third-offense operating while intoxicated. A report says Dubuque police attempted to stop Schueler’s vehicle around 9:30 p.m. on suspicion of reckless driving in the intersection of Asbury Road and Holliday Drive. When the officer approached Schueler’s vehicle, it fled the scene, traveling north on Holliday Drive. The vehicle traveled as fast as 65 mph in a 25-mph zone before it stopped on Holliday Drive and Schueller was taken into custody. A test showed Schueler’s blood alcohol content measured 0.142%. The legal driving limit is 0.08%.
