Police Release Name Of Person In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Dubuque police have released the name of the man who died in a motorcycle crash Sunday. 20 year old Daniel Hammel of Dubuque was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital, where he died. According to police, the crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday on Carter Road just south of West 32nd Street. A crash report says Hammel was northbound when he lost control of his motorcycle, which struck the curb on the west side of the road and then landed in the ditch. The speed of the motorcycle was a contributing factor in the crash.
