Police say a Dubuque man chased a group of juveniles in front of his house with a baseball bat. 34 year old Kevin Croft Jr. was arrested around 6:30pm Wednesday at his residence on a charge of assault while displaying a weapon. Police responded Wednesday to a residence on Jackson Street. A 13-year-old boy told police that he and his friends were walking past Croft’s residence when Croft grabbed a baseball bat and threatened the group. Croft’s dog then exited the house and began to chase the juveniles. Traffic camera footage showed Croft “appearing to chase the kids around the front of his house while holding a baseball bat. In the video, Croft shakes the bat at the juveniles multiple times and can be seen hitting it on the porch as well. A report says Croft told police that a group of boys have been threatening to beat up his son, and he used the bat to defend himself and his family.
