Platteville Man Injured When Struck By Vehicle in Dubuque

Police say a man from Platteville was struck by a vehicle and injured Monday in Dubuque. 79 year old David Welbes Sr. of Platteville was taken by private vehicle to Southwest Health in Platteville for treatment of minor injuries. According to Dubuque police, a vehicle was traveling south on Central Avenue shortly before 6am Monday when it turned left onto Fifth Street and struck Welbes, who was crossing Fifth Street legally in the crosswalk. The vehicle then left the scene. There has been no update on Welbes’ condition.
