Peosta Man Receives Courage in Cancer Award

A Peosta man is the recipient of the Avery Foundation of Dubuque’s courage in cancer award during its annual Founders Gala at the Hotel Julien Dubuque. The Russell Award was presented to Tom Greisinger of Peosta who has been battling throat and neck cancer since 2019. Greisinger has made trips to Iowa City, Houston, Texas, and Bethesda, Md., for cancer treatments and has beaten the odds his doctors have given him several times and fights on hard yet today. The Avery Foundation was established in March of 2017 in the memory of James and Julie Avery who both passed away from cancer.
