Authorities in Jo Daviess County say a drunk driver was injured Saturday when his vehicle left the roadway, crashing into trees and the deck of a residence in rural Elizabeth. 24 year old Connor Altensey of Savanna, was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Altensey was driving south on South Pleasant Hill Road north of West Reusch Road at approximately 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and it left the roadway. The vehicle struck multiple trees and a deck of a residence, where it came to a rest. Altensey was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
