Fire chiefs in all Dubuque County communities put in place a county-wide ban on burning in effect as of now. Additionally, Jackson County is under an open-burning ban. Both bans were ordered by proclamation of Iowa State Fire Marshal Dan Wood. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for all tri-state area counties for today. The warning of an increased fire danger remains in effect until 8 p.m. Temperatures in the low 80s will combine with gusting winds and low relative humidity to increase the chances of outdoor fires spreading rapidly.Â
