A Dubuque woman has been sentenced to two to five years of probation for stealing more than $14,000 from a convenience store’s Iowa Lottery pull-tab account. 38 year old Hollie Carr was given the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to a charge of first-degree theft. Rainbo Oil Co. officials alerted Dubuque police on February 27th about a large amount of over-payouts relating to the store’s pull-tab account, with most of the flagged payouts occurring at the company’s convenience store on University Avenue. The transactions were believed to have occurred 46 times between November 8th and January 31st, resulting in a total theft of over $14,000.
