Driver From New Vienna Dies in Crash Near Asbury

Authorities said a person was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Dubuque County. The driver, a New Vienna resident whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. According to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. west of Asbury. A report says the vehicle drove off the west side of the road and went about 70 yards through a field and down a wooded embankment. Authorities will release more information once their investigation is completed.
