A man from Guttenberg has been sentenced to two years of probation for shooting at vehicles parked at a Dubuque County residence. 28 year old Timothy Schmitt was given the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to charges of use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime and reckless use of a firearm-property damage. A report says that Schmitt arrived at a residence outside of Sherrill on December 21st and began shooting at vehicles. Security camera footage showed Schmitt firing the shots. Schmitt shot a total of five vehicles, and seven casings for a 20-gauge shotgun were located near the vehicles.
