A man has been sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for selling cocaine and heroin near a Dubuque college. 46 year old Rashaun Carter of Lynwood, Illinois was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa. U.S. District Court Judge C.J. Williams ordered Carter to serve 51 months in prison and six years of supervised release following his prison term. A report says Carter admitted during his plea hearing in November that he was involved in selling heroin and cocaine at a house near the Loras College campus in 2017 and 2018.
