Forecasters have issued a heat advisory for the entire tri-state area. The advisory is in effect from noon today in all local counties, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory is expected to expire at 8 p.m. tonight in Crawford, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin. The advisory extends to noon Friday in Dubuque, Clayton, Delaware and Jackson counties in Iowa and Jo Daviess County in Illinois. The weather service reports that peak heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees are expected with little reprieve from the warm and humid conditions during the overnight hours. The combination of heat and humidity could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
