Authorities said human remains located in November in Delaware County were confirmed to be those of a man who went missing 10 years ago. The Office of the State Medical Examiner confirmed that the remains were those of Brian Burns. A release states that pheasant hunters reported the discovery of the remains Nov. 5 in a field in rural Delaware County. The area where the remains were found is approximately one mile southwest of Burns’ residence. The identity of the remains was confirmed by DNA testing and that the cause of death is undetermined at this time. Burns, of Manchester, was declared dead by a Delaware County jury in 2021, eight years after he was reported missing on Dec. 23, 2013.
