A Dubuque man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13. 18 year old Kyle Balk received the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to charges of third-degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child, purchase/possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, tampering with a witness and interference with official acts. A report says Balk repeatedly sexually assaulted a child younger than 13 last year in Dubuque. The victim also reported being sexually assaulted by two other men. A search warrant of Balk’s phone showed inappropriate photos and video of the victim. The girl’s mother also told police that after the assault was reported, Balk called the girl and threatened to “come after” her if the case was pursued. Also charged in the case is 18 year old David Anderson of East Dubuque. He is charged with second-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse and has pleaded not guilty.Â
