43 animals, including several dogs and kittens, were removed from a Delaware County residence with unsanitary conditions. Some dead animals were also discovered on the property. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in Manchester on Tuesday, March 26 in an effort to determine if unlicensed dog breeding and sales were being conducted. Investigators found seven deceased dogs and a deceased kitten on the property. Several dogs were kept in unsanitary conditions with poor ventilation and excessive waste. Dogs were found to have matted fur and lacked necessary grooming. A total of 15 dogs, 4 puppies, 14 adult cats and 10 kittens were removed from the residence and placed in the care of a shelter. The case is under investigation and charges are pending in the case.
