Police said a home was damaged by gunfire during a disturbance Monday in Dubuque and that four people were arrested in connection with a related fight. 32-year-old Brittany Herber was arrested at 8:41 p.m. in the 1800 block of Jackson Street on a charge of unlawful assembly. Dubuque Police Department Lt. Luke Bock said three juveniles also were arrested on charges of unlawful assembly in connection with the incident. Court documents state that police responded at approximately 6:47 p.m. Monday to the area of 18th and Jackson streets for a report of a shot being fired. A review of traffic camera footage showed two groups of people attempting to fight. “There were at least seven people involved,” Bock said. Police met with Herber, who said an unknown subject shot a gun at her, documents state. Bock said gunfire damaged a porch railing at a home in the 1800 block of Jackson Street.
Police said Monday’s incident marks the fifth case of shots fired with criminal intent in Dubuque this year. The fourth occurred early Sunday in the area of Stafford and High Bluff streets. The other incidents were on Feb. 12 on Queen Street, March 24 on Rhomberg Avenue and April 7 in the area of Gilliam and Mineral streets.
