A priest accused of sexually abusing several altar boys at a Catholic school in Dubuque during the 1980s will face arraignment on May 28th. Father Leo Riley appeared via Zoom in Dubuque County Court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing as he faces five counts of sexual abuse. Riley’s brother posted the half a million dollar bond this week to get Riley out of jail as he awaits trial. Riley must still remain in Iowa and wear a GPS monitor while he is out on bond and he’s been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims. Riley was arrested last month in Florida where he moved to in 2000 and is currently serving at a Catholic Parish. Riley is facing a lawsuit in Florida from a former student, who also claims Riley sexually abused him at a school there.
