A Dubuque man has been sentenced to one year of probation for leading a deputy on a high-speed chase. 26 year old Adam Reinert received the sentence from Iowa District Court Judge Laura Parrish in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after pleading guilty to charges of eluding — 25 mph or more over the speed limit and driving while barred. If he violates the terms of his probation, Reinert faces up to five years in prison. The charges stem from a September 15 incident in which reports say Reinert led a deputy on a high-speed chase in a residential area along Rockdale Road after the deputy attempted to pull Reinert over for not having license plates on his motorcycle. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle as it pulled into a convenience store, but the driver, later identified as Reinert, cut through the parking lot and drove down Maquoketa Drive. The deputy later located Reinert in the 2600 block of Galena Drive, and he was detained, and arrested.
