East Dubuque Cannabis Dispensary To Receive Forgivable Loan

A planned cannabis dispensary in East Dubuque has received a $240,000 forgivable loan financed by the state of Illinois. Bridge City Collective was one of 23 qualified, licensed social equity dispensaries to receive the loans.  A release states that the loans are designed to promote inclusivity in the cannabis sector. Illinois legislation legalizing recreational cannabis sales included a “social equity” component designed to give residents who had been most impacted when cannabis use was illegal an opportunity to participate in the industry once marijuana was legalized.
