School safety threat at Platteville High School

Parents of Platteville School District students received an email today notifying them of a school safety incident at the high school. According to the email, on Thursday, December 5 multiple students reported seeing a student with a weapon to the administration.  The administration and the Platteville Police Department responded. They found a student did possess a look-a-like weapon, not a real weapon. The look-a-like weapon was secured by Platteville Police and school administration. The student is no longer on school grounds. Due to an ongoing investigation, the district is unable to share any further information.
