Dubuque man sentenced to 25 years in prison for sex crimes

A Dubuque man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually abusing a child. 64-year-old Teodoro Rubio Sr. recently received the sentence in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after previously being found guilty of second-degree sexual abuse and three counts of lascivious acts with a child after a November jury trial. Court documents state that a Dubuque woman notified police in early 2023 that Rubio had inappropriately touched her when she was a child and that her daughter had disclosed that she also was abused by Rubio when she was a child. The daughter said the abuse occurred about 10 times.
