Wisconsin man arrested in Dubuque on charge of enticing a minor

Dubuque police said a Wisconsin man sent sexually explicit text messages to someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. 50-year-old Michael A. Mullahey of Shullsburg was arrested at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday in the area of JFK Road and University Avenue on a warrant charging enticing a minor under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose. Court documents state that Dubuque police began investigating Mullahey in August after a resident alerted them to a series of increasingly explicit text messages Mullahey sent to a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. Mullahey, in fact, was messaging an adult who created a fake account in an effort to “identify child predators who are using different social media applications.”
