Dubuque County authorities warn of mail-based scam

Dubuque County authorities are warning residents of a mail-based scam reported locally. Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department officials said in an online announcement that a resident had reported a mailer containing a fraudulent notice of “an important matter regarding your mortgage with Aim Credit Union” and asking residents to call a phone number “as soon as possible.” The announcement says if you are a victim of a scam, please call your local law enforcement to assist you.
