An air quality advisory is issued statewide for Canadian wildfire smoke. According to the Wisconsin DNR, the advisory is in effect from 8:30 a.m. today to Noon Thursday. Air quality is expected to fall between the “Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups” and “Unhealthy” categories, though there is a possibility it could fall into the “Very Unhealthy” category, the DNR said. Wisconsin residents, especially those in sensitive groups, should consider rescheduling or moving activities inside. If you are outside, officials recommend keeping activities shorter and less intense. Smoke was already observed in northern Wisconsin Tuesday morning. The DNR expects that smoke to slowly blanket the state overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Stay updated by visiting the DNR’s air quality monitoring site.
